You went to the hospital to have what we all thought would be just another surgey. To our surprise there were many obsticules that created it to continue to be posponed. You spent your last birthday in the hospital awaiting this life ending surgery. We enjoyed the time together, you said the words I hold dear to my heart, " Laura I am so proud of you and what you have become, wonderful husband, great kids, and a nice neew home". I will be forever thankful for this time spent with you. On May 31st you had your surgey, after a very long day of worring you made it through it ok. For a few days in ICU you had trouble coming off the vent, only to be moved to a more permentant room. I knew then things were not good. I spent as much time with you a possible. But never would be enough. I watched you for two months decline to not much at all. First your lungs, then your liver, next your kidney's. I kept begging mom to tell the doctors of you excessice alcohol use so you could recevie detox meds, but she kept insuring they knew, I should have said something but trusted her. After weeks of worry and tears the day came when we had to make that dreadful decission I will regret forever...To turn the machines off or to let things go on. We turned them off and you went fast, I will never forget the sound, your beating heart that continued even after you left us...Daddy I am lost with out you and will go on but life will be forever changed. Little did I know when we barried you, our family was barried to:( I can't wait to see you again, I know I will and that is what keeps me going... Forever my heart, Your Daughter Laura
